    I like visuals. Like the US Department of Agriculture’s food pyramid guide to healthy eating. You can click on the various wedges of the pyramid to see what the government is recommending. The first big wedge is labeled “Grains,” and urges us to eat at least three ounces of grain-based foods like crackers, rice, bread, or pasta everyday.   2. The “Science” of Killing Tiny Ones

    Civil libertarian Nat Hentoff  views the pro-life stance as an extension of the fight for human rights, in this case for the really, really tiny ones yet to be born. Yesterday’s reversal of the ban on federal funding of fetal stem cell research was claimed to be above politics and ideology. How can elected officials, or their official activities while in office, ever be above politics? Reminds me of the implied madness in the lyrics of Thomas Dolby song, “She Blinded Me With Science!” (more…)


  3. There is no such committee, yet. Given the recent push by government, especially the federal government, to assume jurisdiction over more and more areas of economic and social activity, it seems to be the direction we are heading in. I think this is a very wrong direction. (more…)
